Khomys is Khakassian folk stringed plucked musical instrument, it refers to lute. It is made of pine, birch, fir or cedar and covered with leather. Khomys has two or three strings. The old khomys, preserved in the Minusinsk Museum of Martyanova, confirms that the strings were usually vein.

Khomys is used as an accompanying instrument at the musical performance of and as well as a solo instrument.
