Dmitry Aleksandrovitch Khvorostovsky (1962) is a famous Russian singer (baritone). he studied in Krasnoyarsk art institute. His debut was in 1985 in Krasnoyarsk. In 1987 he won the Glinka contest. The international career of the singer started in 1989 after his victory on a contest of BBC in Cardiff "The singer of the world" (Great Britain). After his debut in London "Vigmor Hall" the newspaper "The Times" wrote: "He came, sang and won". The best theatres of Europe were given the honor to accept the Siberian Baritone. Until 2002 Khvorostovsky was recorded only on Philips Classics. The opera albums include "Evgeniy Onegin" and "Traviata". He also recorded 2 albums of Chaikovsky, Rahmaninov, Rimsky-Korsakov and Borodin romances; 2 albums of opera arias of Chaikovsky, Verdi, Rubinshtein, Musorgsky and Rimsky-Korsakov; the album of opera arias of Rossini, Bellini and Donitsetti. In 1992 the album "Ochi chernie" which included folk songs and romances was a real success in the USA and Europe. Dmitry Khvorostovsky is one of the best Russian baritones, who possesses beautiful timbre and an outstanding technique of Bel-Canto.
